How Big and Long Are Magnum ™ Condoms?
The distinctive black box and gold wrapper of a Magnum™ large size condom on your nightstand or peeking from your pocket lets your partner know you are big and long enough for a condom that is up to 30% larger than standard size. But just how big do you have to be for a Trojan™ Magnum™? Read on.
How Big Do You Have to Be for a Trojan ™ Magnum™?
If you’re wondering whether you can fit a Magnum ™ condom, you’re not alone. Finding the right condom size, fit, and feel can be harder than many people think. If you’re in the average range or on the slimmer or shorter side when it comes to penis girth and length, you’ll be better served with one of our classic Trojan™ condoms. Typically, you need a girth of around 5 inches (127 mm) or more to fit a Magnum™ condom.
Not sure how big around your penis is? Learn how to measure your girth in our condom fit guide, then see if you’re in Magnum™ range. A range of penis sizes can fit a Magnum condom, partly because Magnums come in several styles and sizes.
How Big are Magnum Condoms?
A Magnum condom may be larger in length, width, or both. When it comes to condom sizes, girth matters more than length because you don’t have to unroll a condom all the way to use it, but if it’s too wide you’re in danger of it slipping off during sex — and that’s no bueno.
When thinking about how big Magnum™ condoms are, it depends partly on the shape. There are two main shapes of Magnum™ condoms, tapered and bulbous. The Magnum™ condoms available in the UK, Magnum™ BareSkin™ and Magnum™ Ribbed, are all tapered; this means that they are a bit tighter at the base than they are at the head – and have a reservoir tip.
Whether a Magnum condom fits depends in part on which Magnum™ option you choose. Refer to the chart below to see how the length, base width, and mid-shaft width measure up for the different Magnum styles. It’s possible that one Magnum™ condom may not fit, but another one might, depending on your size.

How Long are Magnum™ Large Size Condoms?
Magnum™ condoms tend to be longer than standard condoms. While you can use a condom that doesn’t unroll all the way, you should not use a condom that fully unrolls before it reaches the base of your penis up against your body. To help protect you from sexually transmitted infections, you need full coverage of the shaft. A standard condom being too short is one of the reasons many people reach for Magnum™.
If you’re wide enough to fit a Magnum™ but not quite as long as a Magnum can fit, you may still choose the gold wrapper for your go-to protection. When a condom doesn’t fully unroll, it leaves a band of material at the base that grips your penis. Some find that tight band can hinder their erection, while others find it pleasurable and sustaining, like a cock ring. You’ll have to experiment to see what works for you. Review the chart above to see the different length ranges each Magnum™ condom is sized for.
And remember, just like sex, a condom doesn’t last forever (but you can do it again).
As with all condoms, Magnum condoms do expire and lose their effectiveness, especially if you keep them in your car or your pocket. Review the do’s and don’ts for condom storage and expiration to make sure you’re treating your condoms well, so they’ll be there to protect you when you’re ready.
